Four people who formerly operated Jackpot Charity Bingo near Waco are scheduled to be tried in federal court beginning Sept. 11 on charges of fraud and tax evasion.

A revised indictment was returned June 2 by a federal grand jury in Lexington against Rita Faye Tipton and Gloria Ann Williams of Madison County and Cletis Merrill Adams and Brenda Carole Adams of Estill County.

The four had been indicted previously in February.

An Aug. 14 trial date had been set, but the trial was postponed because a witness for the Adamses was to be out of the country until early August.

The four defendants were indicted on one charge of conspiracy, nine counts of tax evasion and three counts of mail fraud.
