Deregulation of free bingo.

B2kSlots.com sponsored by b2kbingo.com - free online Internet bingo tournaments, game, play, games

New York laws taking effect Jan. 1 include the deregulation of free bingo. Beginning in 2008, running a free bingo game at senior centers, schools, offices, schools and at home will no longer be a crime punishable by as much as a year in jail. Operators of low-stakes bingo games, in which there is no fee to play, will no longer be subject to licensing backed up by the misdemeanor. The licensing requirements still apply to anyone running bingo for profit or proceeds.

Bingo players help Reedsport food pantry

Every Sunday afternoon this winter, a group of citizens in Reedsport come together to try their luck at bingo, but this past Sunday, it wasn't typical game day.

For them, they had a new mission, not just to win, but to help out a local cause.

About two dozen bingo fans, who play over at the Lower Umpqua Community Center, collected foods, including canned goods, flour and water for the first time to give to the Reedsport food pantry.

Tainted bingo at senior centers?

BPN

Grandma? Cheating at bingo? No way.

But rumors have been swirling for years around San Jose's senior-center bingo circuit: Volunteers who collect cash, pass out cookies and verify score cards seem to win more often than players who don't help out. Or so some say.

B-1 yells the Drag queen

Drag queen bingo game upsets neighbor
BY ROGER DROUIN

SARASOTA -- Skip Dyrda is fed up with Drag Queen Bingo at the neighboring Canvas Cafe, a weekly event that highlights drag queens hollering bingo numbers and off-color jokes into a megaphone less than 20 feet from Dyrda's home.

He has called the police three times, only to be told that the city's noise ordinance does not take effect until 10 p.m., an hour when Dyrda's 7-year-old daughter should be fast asleep.

The cafe's owner has agreed to take away the megaphone, but that is about as far as he will go in restricting an event that is garnering national attention; the noise dispute made CNN News on Wednesday.

Funny piece about Bingo
By CASSAUNDRA BABER

I had my lucky pickle, “Big Papa,” in a bag by my side and my fuchsia, vending-machine BINGO dabber ready to pounce.

B-9. I just needed a B-9.

I pursed my lips, ready, forming the B to yell Bingo. I looked to my new friends Shirley Harrington, Al and Flo Bishop and Theresa Butterfield. They looked at me with an encouraging nod and smiled.

“N-32,” the announcer called in an even-toned, non-emotive drone, as if she didn’t care one bit that she was ruining my Bingo game.

“N-32.”
“BINGO!!!!” With an agile leap (for a senior citizen) the winner of my Bingo took the prize.

In an instant, I decided I hated Bingo

US online gambling opponent gets promotion

B2kSlots.com sponsored by b2kbingo.com - free online Internet bingo tournaments, game, play, games

Online gambling nemesis Senator Jon Kyl of Arizona is moving up in the world of US Republican Party politics, an ominous sign for online bingo operators hoping for a relaxation of laws enshrined in the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA).

The man who has done more to ruin the online gambling industry than any other US politician won his party’s election to become the Republican’s assistant leader, or minority whip. He replaces Trent Lott who is giving up his seat at the end of the year.

"We have one leader, that's Mitch McConnell (of Kentucky), and my job is assistant leader, and I appreciate that point," Kyl said after the vote. "I assured my colleagues that I would work as hard as Trent, that I would do everything I could to assist our leader in the work that we have to do in the remaining days of this session and, of course, throughout the next session."

For observers of the bingo online industry the promotion of Kyl means the Senator’s policies are likely to gain in influence.

Efforts to make online bingo legal again

Online bingo operators and bingo online players alike will be pleased to hear that Barney Frank’s Internet Gaming Regulation and Enforcement Act (IGREA) has picked up even more support with a further three US Congressmen signing on to the effort to bring about change to the existing Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA).

Serving Congressman Barney Frank is persevering in his attempts to drum up support for a change to the controversial UIGEA law by introducing his bill for a regulated online gambling industry along similar lines to that enjoyed in the UK. It is also considered that a change to UIGEA may help resolve the current WTO dispute that could see the US having to pay out billions in compensation due to its intentions to withdraw from its WTO obligations in order to retain UIGEA.

The three latest Congressmen to join the fight against UIGEA are Robert E. Andrews (New Jersey), Adam Smith (Washington), and John B. Larson (Connecticut).
